Tangerine Kush Grow Log

Vegetative Cycle

Week 1

Clones were cut and placed into peat moss 1" starter cubes after being dipped in Clonex rooting gel. Prior to taking cuts, the peat moss cubes or Root Riots were soaked in a Clonex solution for several hours set at 6.3pH in order to adjust the grow medium pH and wash out any debris. Drier cubes can be soaked for longer to resaturate them. These clones were then placed under a T5 4'x6 bar lighting system using a light cycle of 24/0 within a mondi humidity dome and tray. I prefer the mondi humidity dome and tray to other brands because of its durability.

Week 2

Clones will not need to be fed until the humidity dome comes off and roots start popping out of the cubes about 7 days after cutting. The humidity dome vents are gradually opened up throughout the early period of the clone's life after several days of high humidity.

Week 3

Clones are ready to be transplanted into 1 gallon pots filled with promix. Before placing the rooted clone into the 1 gallon pot, granular mycorrhiza is applied to the pot above the soilless mix where it will make direct contact with roots. Plants are receiving vegetative feed at the transition phase using Emerald Harvest 2-part series nutrients.

Week 4

During this week, plants will be topped and slightly pruned as well as receiving their first pesticide spray application. These plants are receiving early vegetative feed using the same nutrient line. Plants are currently drinking 0.25 gallons of water or feed daily being flushed once every 3 days.

Week 5

Plants are ready to be transitioned from T5 lighting to 1000W MH lighting. The lights are placed at a greater distance from the canopy to prevent light and heat stress. Plants are now switched from early vegetative feed to the late vegetative feed schedule. They are also receiving a nutrient foliar application once weekly.

Week 6

Plants are transplanted again from 1 gallon pots to 5 gallon pots using the same soilless mix and granular mycorrhiza. Plants are drinking about 1 gallon of feed or water per day. Now these plants receive a pesticide application approximately every 3 days to prevent any pest or disease outbreaks.

Week 7

Tang kush plants are pruned and topped again this week with a focus of optimizing airflow between the plants and creating a proper plant canopy.

Week 8

Plants are transplanted for a third time from 5 gallon pots to 10 gallon pots using the same transplanting method as stated before. Plants are ready to be transitioned into the flower stage from the vegetative stage at the end of the week. They are currently still on a light cycle of 24/0 under 1000W MH light fixtures.

Flowering Cycle

Week 1

Now that plants have been transitioned into flower they will be pruned heavily in preparation to be trained by trellis and to create a more even canopy. They are still receiving the once-a-week foliar nutrient applications until the end of week 2 flower. They are now receiving a transition mix of early flower liquid nutrients. The light cycle has switched from 24/0 to 12/12 and the light bulbs are switched from 1000W MH bulbs to 1000W HPS bulbs.

Week 2

By week 2 of flower, plants should have a layer of trellis set across the bottom of the plant canopy in order to better position the cannabis tops and provide additional support. Nutrient foliar applications are no longer applied from this point forward. Pesticide applications are still done every 3 days. Cannabis plants are receiving

Week 3

Plants have been trained with trellis and are growing upwards towards the light. The 1000W HPS light fixtures are approximately 48"-60" from the plant's canopy and are providing adequate light for about three to four plants per light. Each grow room has their own seperate pair of coveralls to prevent cross-contamination.

Week 4

Plants are focusing on producing buds instead of growing upwards. By the end of this week the plants will switch from their early flower nutrient mix to a late flower nutrient mix schedule using the same nutrient line. The focus this week is to defoliate plants to provide better airflow as the canopy has become more dense with foliage. Pesticide applications are stopped by this week.

Week 6

Plants are being defoliated for a second time in flower or the fifth time overall to prevent any health issues for the plants. The nutrient schedule is slightly adjusted to provide more Potassium for the flowering plants to increase yield at the beginning of the week.

Week 8

Plants are now being flushed daily at the start of week 8 of the flower stage in preparation for harvest at the beginning of week 9.
